Central Portugal and the Silver Coast is the fascinating and diverse region situated between Porto/Vila Real in the north and Lisbon/Montemor-o-Novo in the south. This varied and historic region incorporates the remote mountains of the Serra da Estrela, the stunning beaches of the Silver Coast, historic cities, towns and villages; and the pilgrimage destination of Fatima.

There are numerous historic sites in the region; such as Coimbra, Viseu, Tomar and Aveiro, which is locally known as the ‘Venice of Portugal’ as well as the near by famous spa town of Luso.

In addition you may also like to spend time visiting the Silver Coast, which has some of the best rated beaches in Europe; being very popular for surfers and sun seekers alike. These include Figueira da Foz [a beach resort] and Praia Tocha [unspoilt sand dunes beach].

For those tourists who take the time to discover this varied region will be rewarded with a land rich in culture, history and beautiful natural scenery such as the Berlengas islands and the view from Sitio cliff in Nazaré.
